Scope of works: • Gather and analysis available supporting documentation of previous years’ audits and list audit findings related to assets and actions to be followed to address the findings; • Annually verify all immovable assets; • Asset unbundling according to a defined hierarchy; • Auditing and identification of all infrastructure assets that the Entity has control over; • Componentization of assets where assets have different components with different useful lives which is material; • Assistance in valuing of immovable assets within the control of the municipality whose acquisition costs could not be obtained; • Additional audit assistance in respect of immovable assets where such assistance is necessary; and • Necessary adjusting journal entries for accurate reporting i.e. impairment journals, write-off and De-recognition of assets etc; • Proposed disposal listing emanating from the verification and conditional assessment process; • GIS alignment, cadastral layer and Coordinates; • Verification of Municipal Owned properties and Reconciliation of deeds information, GVR to Asset Register; • Technical assistance throughout the audit process.
