Bids are hereby invited for the following: Supply, delivery and offloading of streetlight poles for electricity department. Specifications: Design Conditions: The poles shall be designed in accordance with SABS 0214-1987 - Code of Practice for the “General Procedure and Loadings”. The poles shall be designed to withstand a wind velocity of up to 140km/h. Construction: The construction of the poles shall be from pre-formed steel pipe of various sizes welded together through swaging by means of continuous full strength butt welds, i.e. tubular stepped in sections. Material: The tubular material shall be of grade 300 MPA to SABS 657 with welding also conforming to SABS standards. Finish: The poles and all ancillary items should be hot dipped galvanized to SABS 763 specifications or finished as specified. Base Plate: Planted poles shall be supplied with a welded base plate of 300mm x 300mm x 3mm thick and must be dip hot galvanized. Cable Entry: A single cable entry 100mm x 50 mm wide shall be provided 400 mm below ground level. Protection/Rust Sleeve: The planted streetlight poles must be supplied with a ground sleeve 600mm long, 4mm thickness. Access Opening: A hinged, sealed or flush-mounted door shall be supplied with the poles as well as various door-locking methods, safety bolts, hexagonal nut or Allen cap screw. To prevent theft the design of the access cover shall be such that it cannot be removed from the pole once the locking nuts have been removed. Access door shall be 1m above the ground. Outreach: Single outreach arm should be 2m long measured horizontally from the pole. Outreaches shall either be detachable or fixed to the pole shaft. (Ausschreibung №103751903de)
