Proposals are hereby invited for the following: Design (including environmental permitting), supply, construction and commissioning of a 0.5ml/day solar-powered seawater desalination plant, for a period of 7 years (3 years for construction & 4 years for operations and maintenance) at the Port of Ngqura. This tender is for the design, manufacture, construct and commission, operate, and maintain the seawater desalination plant at the Port of Ngqura. The plants, to be transferred to Transnet National Ports Authority’s Port of Ngqura after commissioning, will be operated and maintained by the service provider for a period of 4 (four) years. The proposed volume of the plant is 0.5 Ml/day. The plant should be supplied with renewable energy for its operation. The plant should produce portable water in accordance with SANS 241:2015. The infrastructure and hydraulic loading rates should be designed in a manner that would allow future expansion of the plant to 2 Ml/day. Location of service: Port of Nqura.
