Re-Advertisement: Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Sany ECH008 & ECH009 Corrosion Protection. Scope: - Any cracks/defective welds found, are to be treated, applying anti corrosion primer, intermediate and final coat (As per Transnet Corrosion Protection EEAM-Q-008 rev 17). NDT reports that depict a "failed" result is to be repaired and subjected to re-testing until a "pass/satisfactory" result is obtained. A welding procedure specifically for the repairs of cracks is to be provided by the Contractor to the employer representative"s acceptance. Alternate NDT tests (ie. Crack test) are to be conducted on stress points of the ECH and be submitted to the employee in the Data pack. - Welding is to be performed by a coded / certificated welder. - Thickness testing to be conducted on spreader channels, lifting hooks, cabin arrangement (interior, exterior, roof, guards and balance weight, guard plates, side mirror mounting brackets sections where excessive corrosion is encountered. Affected areas to be replaced where the thickness has deteriorated to below 70% of the original parent metal thickness, or where cracks have been detected on the affected area. (Proof to be submitted in Data Pack). - Corrosion protection to be conducted on corroded areas along the whole structure and miscellaneous areas surrounding these, which includes spreader channels, lifting hooks, cabin arrangement (interior, exterior, roof, guards and balance weight, guard plates, side mirror mounting brackets, all hinges, mounting pins, hydraulic cylinder barrels. - The handrails, access staircases, platforms, shall be removed, repaired and sent for Sandblasting and hot galvanized prior to installation (As per Transnet Corrosion Protection EEAM-Q-008 rev 17). All corroded handrails are to be repaired in site. Corroded sections are to be cut off and new sections are to be welded in place, Hand railing consists of 32 mm NB diameter tubing handrail stanchions, 32 mm NB diameter tubing handrail. Petrolatum primer corrosion prevention spray coatings are to be applied on the inside of repaired handrails. - Before the application of paint, the areas to be painted shall be cleaned of all oil, grease, salt and contaminants by the use of a high-pressure steam cleaner, or by using a high-pressure washer (minimum of 250 bar) in conjunction with a suitable water based biodegradable degreaser and thereafter left to dry. - Where required, the bulk of the oil and grease on the areas to be prepared and painted will have to be removed by scraping and solvent cleaning prior to high pressure cleaning. - Corroded areas shall be mechanically prepared to bare bright metal (ST-3, or greater) to ensure that all corrosion has been removed. The surrounding areas of localised corrosion are to be further prepared by feathering to ensure paint blending. All prepared areas are to be immediately painted with a suitable primer to prevent the area from oxidising. - Surface preparation and painting to be done in accordance with TPT specification EEAMQ-008 rev 17. Should a bidder wish to offer coating system other than those specified, as an alternative, the bidder shall submit full technical details and a list comparing all appropriate details of the alternatives proposed, with the original specified. - Remove and replace damaged Cowley Fan covers and Cabin Air Cooling System The installed Cowley Fan covers and Cabin Air Cooling must be of the High resistant material, same dimensions as the removed Cowley Fan covers and Cabin Air Cooling System.
