Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Stellenbosch: Hla Berdery: services of a qualified irrigation designer for surveying and designing of a permanent drip irrigation system. Scope: The scope of works will include: Services of a qualified SABI irrigation designer are required to design an efficient and cost effective irrigation system as detailed: Part A: Survey and Design: The irrigation designer must survey the area and design fully functioning drip irrigation system to cover eight tunnels (100 x 10 metres each). There is an existing mainline pipe supplying water directly to the tunnels. The tunnels will be used to plant different vegetables crops such as spinach, beans and lettuce. Planting beds layout and directions and all information deemed necessary for the design purposes will be discussed and confirmed with the farmer during the compulsory site meeting. Part B: Design information to be submitted: The successful irrigation designer must provide the following information after completion of the work: • Layout plan of the irrigation system; • Detailed drawings for installation (All the design specification that clearly shows the pipe velocities and sizes and in field specs as well); • List of quantities for material to be purchased; • Cost estimate of the irrigation system.
