The objective is to gather vegetation information from plots established in stands on the Forest using the U.S. Forest Service Common Stand Exam Protocols, using an electronic portable data recorder to collect the data and a GPS unit to document plot location. Some work requires general stocking survival exams only, which will not follow the U.S. Forest Service Common Stand Exam Protocols.
Three projects will be included in this solicitation. Each project area will have its own unique project specific information such as maps, specification, tolerances, work location, etc...
Project 1. - Willamette NF, 3D-QMS Stand Exams: Work includes conducting stand exams on 1906 plots. Work shall follow the U.S. Forest Service Common Stand Exam Protocols. Work for this project area is confined to the Willamette National Forest. The Estimated Start Work date for this project is April 16, 2017. The total performance time will be around 165 days for this project.
Project 2. - Willamette NF, Stocking Survival Exams: Work includes approximately 332 Acres of tree survival survey work. Work will not use the U.S. Forest Service Common Stand Exam Protocols. All stands to be surveyed are plantations, managed stands and natural stands in recently planted fire burned areas on the Middle Fork Ranger District, Willamette National Forest, near Oakridge, Oregon.

Work is much simpler than the R6 Stand Exams.
Work will likely start September 2018 and be completed in October 2018.
Project 3. - Umpqua NF, Stand Exams: Work includes conducting stand exams on 548 plots. A combination of base and optional items will be included in the Schedule of Items. Work shall follow the U.S. Forest Service Common Stand Exam Protocols. Work for this project area is confined to the Umpqua National Forest. Total performance time is 105 days.
