Quotations are hereby requested for the provision of industrial cleaning services at Engineering Workshops for a period of 3 months as per scope of work. Scope of works: The work consists of thorough cleaning of all oil/grease contaminated ground surfaces for All Engineering Workshops (Straddle, CVR, Civils and Cranes) at Durban Container Terminal Pier 2, for a period of three (3) months. Activities include the following but is not limited to: a) Cranes Workshop (spreader workshop) (entrance, exits, workshop platforms, railings), b) Straddle Workshop including Oil store wash bay, effluent plant and Fuel tank farm (entrance, exits, workshop platforms, railings), c) CVR High Bay and Low Bay (entrance, exits, workshop platforms, railings), d) Electrical Workshop, (entrance, exits, workshop platforms, railings), e) Pressure Cleaning at CVR Workshop (throughout the external yard where equipment is parked), f) Drain jetting (unblocking) at CVR Workshop wash bay. Quotations are hereby invited for the services of dust suppression using water spraying tanker truck at the Maydon Wharf and Agri Terminals on as and when required basis for period of three (3) months. Scope of Work: - Water spraying tanker truck (with sprinkler attachment); - Water tanker truck must have a capacity of 10 000 – 15 000 litres; - Water tanker truck will work for 24 hours in everyday, weekend and public holidays included as and when required by operations; - The service provider will provide a water tanker, a truck with mechanically operated water tanks on back, recommended for dust suppression on the operational area, including the spraying stockpile up to 9 meters high and in between various stockpiles, on walkways and roads within the terminal, to result in dust suppression, encouraging a clean and hygienic atmospheric level. Addendum: Extension of Closing Date: Quotations are hereby requested for the appointment of a service provider to conduct a coal market intelligence study for the Port of Richards Bay over a period of six (6) months. Scope of services: The coal market study is intended to gather intelligence on projected short, medium- and long-term market conditions and anticipated shift to direct investment on strategic port infrastructure associated with handling of coal as a commodity. The coal market study is expected to be delivered over 6 months period and will be used as a base to either uncover new markets, drive market expansion, minimise investment risk, gain advantage over competitors or as a tool to expand the port’s market share. Over and the listed benefits, the study will further help the port in achieving the following: • Capital planning and allocation for growth projects; • Alignment of the port investment plan to changing coal market conditions; • Decision making in relation to diversification of commodities by the ports (if needed); and • Optimisation of available assets (i.e. minimising whole-life cycle cost) as well as sustainable infrastructure development. Task to be performed on splicing: • Cold splicing; • Hot splicing; • Clip splicing; • Roll up of conveyor belt; • Super screws; • Conveyor belt repairs. Task to be performed on pulley lagging: • Pulley lagging using ceramic; • Diamond pulley lagging; • Pulley crowning.
